Kitchen renovations can be daunting for any homeowner; limiting the home renovation to just lighting, hardware, and paint updates can be a great way to make significant changes without breaking the budget. I refreshed this kitchen by painting the walls and ceiling Simply White by Benjamin Moore and the island and interior of the cabinets a custom dark gray. This added a modern element to the kitchen that complemented the existing style while creating a nice flow into the modern-style living room.

I opted for two large pendant lights above the island to elevate this look further. The contrast between these pendant lamps' dark cabinet color and light shades created an elegant atmosphere while inviting friends and family for meals.
